Well I got out New Years Day. 50F in January... whodathunkit?
It gave me the opportunity to try out my new Predator Little Eagle (double serrated). All I can say is.. like a hot knife through butter, and worth every penny. I also got to try my newish Garrett Carrot. Sensitive and accurate, the switch can be a pain but I'll get used to it.
All that being said, I went out with my trusty Sov XS (one day I'll pull the Etrac out again) to my usual hunting grounds, and the field was covered in goose sh!t. I continued anyway. Dug up the usual slaw (when I wasn't paying attention to my numbers), and about 1.75 in clad and car wash token. One lovely coin popped out about 5" down. A silver '64 dime. It's amazing how silver gleams even after being buried for who knows how long. Made my day.
