Government failure -

So I'm from Oregon and your required to have this stupid DSL permit from the Department of State Lands to dredge. You don't have to pay for it or anything, you just have to have it when operating in an Essential Salmon Habitat. I applied in January and got it yesterday, 3 weeks before dredging season starts. My phone number, address, and email address were correct. Wasn't my name or even close to my name and was in the wrong river and I'm pretty sure it reflects an area of that river that you can't even mine in.

Guess who my first call is going to be to on Tuesday morning.......

Well if that part of the river is indeed open and not closed, check it out, it might be a sign.

It was probably done on purpose so you will have to spend the whole season trying to fix it.

I did yes.... kind of amazing applied for the DSL in January and the 700 PM in April but got them both on the same day....makes you wonder

I've additionally found out the messed up numerous other DSL permits, basically peoples information along with someone else's name and river section.

Ty, this will be my first real season in 15 years since I just moved back to the area. Seems like a lot more hoops to jump through just to do something the government said i could 150 years ago.

Government success.........correct permit arrived today in the mail, checked it over and it is correct. Not bad, 5 months to get it the first time, 4 days for the corrected one.

Save that tone in your voice. 5 months to screw it up and THEN...4 days to fix it? Priceless!
