Grandfathers 1000 Grains Solid Sterling Silver Bar !!

Hello everyone,

My other grandfather passed about a year ago. (He will be missed) My step-grandmother basically wrote everyone out of the will against my grandfathers wishes. She did not want to give anything to anyone, she made my aunt pay for a painting of my aunt. I had to ask for this item but she was nice enough to give it to me.

This silver bar was given to my grandfather as a parting gift after he refused the sales division of a huge company back in the 70's. This bar is 1000 grains or around 1.95 ounces of sterling silver. When it was given to him it had a silver value of around $3.00 haha generous company huh ??

yes, good memories. They originally were sold as part of a collection that looked like this:

Ingots, sterling silver, 1973 and 1974 Franklin Mint Silver Bank Ingots, sterling silver 1000 grains, 50 ingots in each presentation case, total of 100 ingots, each set 104 oz, total weight 208 oz,

I'm sorry to hear about the unfortunate family dealings MUD. I dealt with a very similar situation when my Grandfather passed some years ago..It can be pretty rough..

Its to bad everyone is greedy and self absorbed Chris. I was told I'd be kicked out of the family if I sold it... Haha, kicked out of my family for $42?? My family is so screwed up... But we all love each other. Thanks again everyone !!
