Did some probing today for a couple of hours in the rain, and located several unmarked graves and two graves along with their stone markers, all of which were probably slave graves. I also found the marble footstone with initials that match up with the name on a baby's tombstone.

I also found a vey cool and very old "Blood Eye" glass marble while unearthing the buried stone markers.

That is so nice of you to do that graveyard restoration....I've worked on several with Historical Societies and it's so awesome to see it back to the way it should be.

Props To You!

Kace

Thank you Kace. Our Historical Society .. or should I say Hysterical Society is a joke around here. Pretty much worthless.

Cool ! I Did one years ago Circa Turn of the Century,
With a Catholic Church. Very Fun & Interesting.

I Only wish I Was on Here & Had a decent Camera Back then.

Nice Marbel :coffee2:

It probably would have been easier when I was younger, but I still like to do things like this..It just takes me longer now.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

"If you look at the top of the marble, you will see a pontil mark. All handmade glass marbles have at least one pontil. This was the spot at the bottom “pole" of the marble where it was sheared off its glass cane or a punty. That would date this marble to circa 1850."

I found this to be fascinating!

Nice work, congrats! :icon_thumleft:
