Had a great day at 2 colonial sites here in SE VA. These fields had homesites back to the early and mid 1700s Finds include my first KGii coin no date in rough shape colonial buckle, 1924 walking liberty quarter US padlock cover, looks like a cut large cent lots of flats including a very ornate button with a pattern I have never seen, thinking might be part of coin silver spoon a gemstone which I assume is costume? Bale seal and other period relics.

Nice stuff! I found a ring kinda like yours. My site was 17th to late 18th century. I'll have to take a closer look, may not have been strictly costume as they just didn't have the good stuff like we do now.

Nice haul of early coins and relics! I dug the exact same saddle strap guide with the star pattern last spring at an old site here in VT. How ironic - found that pattern dates to about 1800.
