Yesterday I decided to call a few banks that I haven't been to in a while to check if they had any half dollars. One lady at one bank checked and said one teller had 2 rolls. So I asked if that teller would be working today and the lady said that teller was off today but she would buy the rolls from the teller so that i could buy them today when I stopped by. So I went to the bank this morning and bought the two rolls I found one '64 JFK in the first roll and two '64 JFK's in the second roll. Not bad from just a $20 search.
I did search a few more banks later in the day without much luck. At one bank I bought $140 in halves but I found absolutely nothing. But I did have some luck at another bank that I almost didn't stop at because they don't have a commercial drive thru so I have to go inside. I've never had any luck there before but today a teller had just 2 halves and one was a 1966. So once again my best finds seem to come from small searches.
It seems I hardly ever find anything when I get $100 or more of cwr halves. It usually just seems to be someone else's dump. But tomorrow I'm supposed to get a box of halves I ordered so maybe I'll have some good luck with that.
