Me and a couple other guys went to a new permission yesterday. Its 150 acres of battlefield land that is practically untouched since the civil war, including a homesite that still stands on the property. The first day was just scouting around trying to get a lay of the land and figure out where most of the fighting took place. Looks like its gonna produce some really good relics! Yesterday i dug these bullets, a large cent, some buttons, and an unknown piece. It looks to me like it may have been a decorative piece went on a sword or knife scabbard but that is just a guess. It has designs on it also. I didn;t have time to clean anything up good last night but once i do i will take some better pics and post it and a couple of the buttons on what is it to identify. I know the one button is a WW1 great seal but i havent identified the others yet.

Hi, wow nice hunt with some nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumright:

Awesome hunt!!!

The property has been occupied since the 1600s. The current landowners family has owned the land for at least 200 years.

Nicely done! 🙌 Hope that site has lbs of good finds for you! 😁

Wow that was a productive hunt, congratulations on all

Congrats on some great relics. Looks like that place is going to keep you busy for a long time !

BenVa, Congrat's to you on some great finds and Historical CW saves. You are onto a great site. If these relics were found just on the first day, there is no telling what awaits you just lying under the sod. Continued Success to you. We look forward to seeing what else your coil passes over. Go Getem'. :icon_thumleft:

Looks like a good spot! Battlefield relics have always been my favorite to find because of the historical significance of them.

Very nice hunt, congratulations! :occasion14:

Some real nice saves. Congrats. Looks like a great chunk of land to hunt. Good luck and congrats on the permission.

Great finds, Congrats!!!

The other 2 guys i was hunting with found as much or possibly even more than i did. Between the 3 of us i bet we dug over 100 musket balls. This was an early battle site too. 1862. Most of the bullets we dug were the larger .69 caliber. They started producing smaller caliber rounds later in the war for several reasons. On reason being they fired better in a dirty gun. Over 6,000 men were listed as killed, wounded or missing at this site.

Congrats on a great hunt and permission. Some of these untouched farms like the one you got permission on have managed hunts that brings the land owners thousands of dollars. For you to get this exclusive permission is outstanding. Congrats again.
