Got out for a few hours with my bud to fight the tide in a new area to us. Lots of history here but also a lot of detecting competition. For me the find of the day was the deadeye...I'll have to do something to preserve the wood....

The anchor had to be left on the beach but I will be getting that home someday...somehow...

The baleen I found yesterday while beach combing...another first for me!

Better find an anchor on top than digging 3' down... That baleen is cool, i didn't know you can find these on the beach!

Soak your wood in PEG Polyethylene Glycol for a week and then deep freeze it until it is dry. IT will stop it from shrinking.

That should be "shore" hunt...not "shire" hunt...no Hobbits on this beach!

Any idea where I would get some PEG?

HAHAHA I was just about to ask if your friends names are Frodo, Samwise, and Pippin? Who makes detectors short enough for a Hobbit to use anyway?
