So I was at a family get together today. I decided to keep the kids entertained by digging out in my parents yard. I pulled 2 wheat pennies that got scooped up by the kids, their "reward" for digging. Then a beer can, and a matchbox car. Then this Greek coin. I thought it was pretty cool and didn't really expect it to come out of my parents yard. 1982

Nice find Verbious but being out with the kids - priceless!

Congrats on the coin and for getting the kids involved

It was a great day overall. My kids are grown and my oldest son couldn't be there with his girl and the kids. My youngest son was there with his girlfriend. They are 25 and 21 this year. All the little kids were nieces and nephews. Beth, one of the oldest, told her dad she wants a detector for her birthday. She found a key and a quarter on her own, with minimal instruction and supervision!

Excellent post,
It's always nice to hear about a child's introduction to this hobby and the fun they have.
