I am completely new to metal detecting as I have not even gotten a metal detector yet. My brother in law and I plan on diving into this head first but I thought purchasing a metal detector and later possibly realizing I should have researched metal detectors more why not join this group and learn from others experiences. Thanks for having me and I look forward to hearing what metal detectors members here suggest.

Welcome, why not watch a few youtube videos and detector reviews? No need to spend a fortune, that's my advice-especially since there are other things you'll need like a pinpointer and digging tool. good luck
