Hello all,,,
We, my friend Gary and I, hunted a greenway that runs along side a creek yesterday. The day started out slow for me, as Gary was making some nice eyeball finds, I was digging nails. He found a brand new (2007 Kickball Medal) it's on a nylon strap and I thinks it's made of brass. Has 1st place on the medal itself.. I'll try to get a pic of it.
He also found a pretty nice necklace made of some type of stones... After digging a half dozen nails, I finally heard a soft, crisp high-tone, showing a depth of 7=1/2" down. I knew it was silver when I heard it. It turned out to be my oldest Mercury dime to date, a 1917/D. Missed the 16/D by one year...

My only other find for the day is this old flat button. It's the biggest flat button I have ever seen. It measures: 1-1/2" in diameter, and is about 3/16" thick. The shank is still intact, although it is bent...

Gary found (4 Wheat cents ) as well, so we both had a pretty good day..
Hope ya all have had some luck, & Happy hunting~
