Grocery store taco's. Any advice? (having it for dinner tomorrow)

I usually use the package of seasoning for the 1 pound beef, then of course the flour tortilla's, cheese, etc, etc. Any added advice to spruce it up a bit? It seems as though we do this once a week and it's getting old.

Good tacos are love! Sometimes I make a mini-quesedilla and use that as the taco shell. Ya know two flour tortillas with warm cheese in the middle.

The possibilities are endless! Top 'em with good queso fresco, from the Latin market.
Use avocado's or guacamole that you make! Purchased guac is trash.
Use cilantro, pickled jalapeños or make a pico ge gallo.
My favorite is salsa verde and its super easy to make.

Boil tomatillos and a few jalapeños till soft then puree and add a touch of salt.

If you live in Austin just go to Guero's taco shop. I hear they are the best around.

Touche. Have you ever been to "taco-deli" in Austin? They have a 'rosa' sauce that's that's to die for. Only two in Austin. My favorite is the sirloin with egg. Trust me, you'll fall in love and spend your life saving on them. It's like crack for the normals.

Change to corn tortillas...

add avocado mixed with salsa...

Use jerked beef (or fall-apart stewed beef)

Mike;

Forget the powdered seasonings...... Brown the beef, then add 1 jar of your favorite Picante sauce / lb of meat instead of the powdered stuff......

My bet is you'll never buy another package of powdered seasonings........

For hard shell tacos, we like the Taco Bell variety the best, warmed in the oven. They're light and crispy.............

Diggem'

I add a lil can of mild green chilies to my beef... and use the green salsa (tomatillo) on the end product as well...

Tacos rock. :headbang:
