I'm curious if these grooves in rock may be the byproduct of indigenous people. I have not been able to find many "pollisoir" examples online from North America. This is on the Potomac River near the fall line.

Nothing in picture for scale. Is it 12" or 12 feet?

Can you take in focus pictures showing the bottom of a couple of the grooves. Nothing in your picture says man-made that I see, but pictures have bad light and cant see bottom of grooves.

On artifacts, blow pictures up, check, see if it is blurry it want work very well for artifact identification or verification. I land others ook for signs of flaking, pecking, or grinding, need good quality pictures for that.

Mother nature has been making pointed and strange looking rocks for billions of years, so many new artifact hunters look with their imagination, instead of their eyes...

Good luck sir..

Hummm. It is most interesting to note there are five marks. Could these marks have been made by an ancient bear?

it looks like some of those grooves extend as cracks beyond the weathering down the face of the rock, so I would say "no".
