get this.. I deliver water for a living, today I had two 5 gallon bottles on my shoulders, walking down a gravel driveway. I spot a dime on the ground, panic set in as the 90 pounds on my shoulders told me to pass it up. Naturally I stop, back up a step, and scrouge that 10 cents. Dirty old thing, filthy, beat up, and seen better days....wait, what the..1953? not bothering w/ a pic, just thanx for the little silver!!!
Few finds lately but found a 1964 silver dime in a coinstar machine last night which along with a few other finds since last post brings my YTD up to $43.22
While I don't actively go our and look for dropped change, I pick up and log everything I find on the ground. I have been doing it now for over 20 years. The most I have ever found in a year was $142.02 (1993). The least was $4.16 (2010). The average is about $12 +-. At the end of the year I take the change and buy lottery tickets. If I ever win I can say I found a million dollars.
I may actually start to go and look some nights now.
Good day today. Found a dime on the floor in our cafeteria this morning, a quarter in the soda machine and just now, a dollar bill on the ground in front of the coke machine.
with that and a few other scattered finds since my last post, I'm up to $47.29 for the year.
well with winter coming soon the thread will slow down some but when spring hits and the snow melts the tread will come back with a vengeance as people find the coins others dropped while rushing to get to their cars and out of the snow.
