Do NOT mirror air temps. But the salty truck crew does not always recognize this. Last night was a real nightmare getting to work or anywhere. Weatherman said "a few flurries maybe an inch"
So we lost three guys who ditched their rides into work, had almost incalcuable traffic wrecks and the ice was solid and smoooooth on the street.

Cops had my industrial park blocked at the exits because people coming out were sliding into the fast sliding traffic slipping by. Sometime after midnight the trucks hit the roads. Very poor planning because the road people forget this almost every year about this time. Minor snowfall, major road pains. Very gusty breezes helped secure those nasty roads.

Contrasted to the first snowstorm this winter, when the road crews started dumping TONS of salt through out the area prior to the storm which of course featured 5 hours of rain first that washed all the road salt away before the temps dropped and the snow came.

The same thing will happen again next year.

Anyway that's my whine, now where's my cheese?
