Within recent weeks and days, Devonrex has uncovered an impressive collection of French military buttons, all from one site. Many forum members have been following these posts on a regular basis, with great interest as more buttons have surfaced in subsequent searches of the area. :icon_thumright:

A very interesting and exciting group shot, of all the French buttons, found on various days, was just posted. To see all these desirable buttons in one group photo is quite the rare occurrence! :o

Why, may one ask, would a group photo of recent exceptional finds be relegated and moved to such an obscure forum (Miscellaneous/My Collections), dedicated to mainly non-dug and non metal detected personal collections such as cars and figurines? :icon_scratch:

Because it was Posted as a Collection.

There was nothing in the beginning of the post even remotley saying
he just found them.

Just like This thread had nothing to do with todays Finds,
Or even the finds from your Last hunt :tongue3:

Discription of Todays finds

Today's Finds!
What did you find today?
Share it with others in the Today's Finds Forum.
Always a "timely" place to visit.

I'm willing to be a little Lenient when
somone can't post the same day.
But if it dosn't look like it belongs, it gets moved :dontknow:

Jeff,

The recent French button finds from that one site, have been posted by Devonrex individually, and in smaller groups, on a regular basis in the "Today's Finds!" forum. The most recently found examples were found and posted just a few days ago. As a new member and poster on these forums, undoubtedly Devonrex was unaware the the word "group picture" in his topic heading would cause his latest post to be moved by a moderator to another nearly obscure forum, that apparently was created on this site as a place to post and discuss primarily "NON" metal detecting finds.

All of what was posted in the group photo, had been recently posted in the "Today's Finds!" forum. The "group picture" was simply just that, all of the individually found French military buttons, after being carefully cleaned, along with the spur, placed in a group photo.

As a "Lenient" moderator, it is quite surprising that you are unaware of this being a photo of recently found items, considering the frequency with the recently posted same buttons and finds. :icon_scratch:

As already stated, many forum members having been following these posts on the "Today's Finds!" forum, and may have enjoyed seeing all of the buttons together as one "group photo" of recently found French buttons. Additionally, many of the buttons had originally been posted almost immediately after being found, and had not even been cleaned enough to identify the details or regiment number. Viewers on the "Today's Finds!" forum that originally saw the uncleaned buttons, may have enjoyed seeing the "Group Collection" photo of all the buttons cleaned as well. :-\

If one is of a mind to move the group photo due to the impression that the post does not meet the criteria of "Today's Finds!", then why not move it to "My Best Finds!" forum, rather than such an obscure forum in another area? :dontknow:

Posting finds once again after being cleaned, has long been common practice on the "Today's Finds!" forum. :tongue3:
The post by Devorex was merely a followup on his earlier posts. :icon_scratch:

There have been countless other finds posted on that very forum a few days later, or even week or months after being found! :read2:
