Cru'dad was itching to get some Roman Coins as we hadn't got many so far this year.
We returned to a Roman Site that needed finishing but it was on the low yield side of the site. (only had 13 from ths area previously)
It only took us 4 hours to grid it all & finish this Site, until this ankle breaker is drilled with a Spring crop.

27 Roman Coins - 1 nice one of Constans. Plus Cru'dad got 2 coins fused together. See top row - funny thing is, they are 200 years apart in age!
1st C AD Roman Fibula (Brooch)
Small bit of a Childs Roman Bracelet
Roman Acorn Terminal

I once found 6 Romans in a day and I was blown away, 27 is next level.
My dad also detects and can't wait to go on a dig again with him but as he's in Cornwall it's a twice a year thing.
It's nice you get to share this hobby together so often with your dad.

That Roman and brooch are nice saves.

Yes, I'm lucky I live near my Dad & the fields are local.

Great looking bronze, and Fibula. Well done

You scratched the itch!

That's a head scratcher...two coins, two hundred years apart, fused together. Weird!
Great finds as always!

Thats a great day with roman coins again. I know you missed these fields. It's nice to have fields with everything, but nothing beats a roman site even when it's a 'not so good' site by your standards. I needed a post like this. Congrats!

Fingers crossed we have a better new Site coming online soon.

Nice to hear you and your Dad are out swinging in February Cru, you must be having a mild winter in your area.
Love the look of this Fibula brooch and the detail on the Constans coin.

Just curious, do you ever get any of your Fibula finds restored or do you consider doing that to be sacrilegious?

Firstly the cost wouldn't justify it, but also not something I'm interested in doing.

Amazing Cru'
You are blessed to have that access. :)
Curious as to what the dates were on the fused coins...what are the odds of that happening? .....and 27 romans to boot.... :)
