Gta 1000 coil

[04 Diesel]

I have a short in the cord that goes in the top of the coil, how do I fix that? Is there a way to take the coil apart so I can fix the short? Have any of you guys done this? Or do I need to send it to Garrett to fix? Thanks.

.......04 Diesel.......I would call Garrett and probably also Keith Wills........any detector repair shop should be able to fix this since the warranty expired long ago!!.....Also sometimes the cost of the coil repair exceeds what a new/used coil would cost!! So condider this too!!.......HH.....Joe

Thanks, I will call Garrett and if they wont do anything I will try to fix it myself.
