Was the ID accurate on these machines, and what years were they made? What kind of depth did they get? Looking at a used one with the stock coil, deep seeker, and supreme deep seeker coils. I own an ace 250 which I like.
It was the first Garrett I ever owned. Previously, my only experience with Garrett's was my friend's Master Hunter/CXII. I made some great finds with that baby and so in time I got my ow Garrett - a GTAx1000 (the Power Master Version John spoke of...)
I traded it within a month of having it because it drove me nuts, as it was always binging and boinging. I was accustomed to other detectors and I didn't give the Garrett time to sink in. I whined and fussed, sure the detector was a lot of crap.
After a few years, I realized that some very good finds came my way as a result of that CXII... and maybe I was too hasty about "them Garretts." By that time the GTP 1350 had come on the scene, so I took the plunge and got one.
I find it is accurate, deep and easy to use. When you consider that the grandfather of my GTP 1350 is the GTA 1000, I dont think you can go wrong for the right price. I say get it and see for yourself.
