GTI 1500 users

Hi all,
Just got a Garrett GTI 1500 and I'm really stoked about this machine. I think it's going to prove to be a huge upgrade from my Ace 150.
Any GTI 1500 users here? If so, I could use any advice you have to get the most out of this sweet machine.....

Kenny, I had a 1500 for almost 10 years and loved it. Never used an ace 150, but I think it will be a big upgrade. The imaging is great on that machine. If you get a bell tone and it is sized as a coin, it's almost always a coin. I used to run mine in coin and jewellery mode with sensitivity set as high as you can get away with. Set the threshold to the point where you can barely hear it. I didn't find a lot of nickels because I got in the bad habit of only listening for the bell tones. Same reason I probably didn't find any gold rings with it. One piece of advice. It seems to really struggle in high trash areas. I think it's due to the old processor and slow recovery times. It might be worth your while to get a small scorcher coil for these types of locations. I have recently upgraded to an at pro and have found 3 silver quarters in my sister in-laws yard that I had gone over many times with my 1500. I might have found them with a smaller cool.
