Nice post, P12...

Those rings are so interesting to view; the stones are pretty!

I've never heard of a gold -plated class ring..that's unusual.

Looks like the cowboy lost the duel!:sad7:

He definately got screwed on the class ring. I doubt the salesmen told him it was plated. Any markings on the band? That's a first for me to see. I have about 40 class rings and have never seen a fake like this one.
I do have fake gold wedding bands that look perfect.
Oh well, still some nice finds.
Are you diving the pond?
Take care.

Great to get old finds.

Really Cool Finds! Rings are very Nice!

Funny when i scrape the crud off i see gold color but doesnt hold 10k acid maybe a lower karat maybe european? and the additives are what i see rotting away? any thoughts?

Plymouthian12 nice finds, you have to keep hitting that spot!!!

A few years back I found a ring in the salt water that was heavily encrusted, I treated it as a junker.
That winter I hit it with electrolysis to see what it was, There was a stamp on it 333 witch is 8k
I acid tested it with 10k acid. 80% of it dissolved very slow, and left a small residue that never dissolved.
Good Luck Jim
