Metal Detecting
Hey y'all - the boy and I found this last night while digging up something else. Could not get it to set off the detector but kept it because of the color. At first thought it was just paint, but did a bunch of googling and came across some pictures of Gummite (uranium!) that look a lot like it. Showed beside some of the coins we found for size comparison. Anyone have an opinion, or come across something like this before? Thanks!

I agree with bradyboy. It looks like spilled paint.

sure looks like paint on the surface imo

Yeah, I put it under a magnifier and scraped with a little knife....99% sure it's paint. Would love to know the story of how two rocks with splashes of paint wound up six inches deep by that creekbed....another mystery!
