Just dug this up at my farm site that dates back to early 1800's

It looks like a sight at the front of the barrel
And also has some sort of line running the length of the bottom. Obviously I need to clean it up more. But wanted to get your thoughts

Reminds me of the time I lost my rifled slug barrel for my Remington 1100. :BangHead:

my 1100 is sooo cool

kind of looks like one so far

Got it cleaned up a little bit. Gonna need electrolysis for a full cleanupImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809504.513463.webp

What do I need to do. To get an Id on what gun this came off of?

Can you run it through electeolysis ?

I hope you can get an ID, although I think there isn't enough for a match. Either way, I'm sure it's a gun barrel. Perhaps the existence of rifling on the inside can help you determine the approximate date.

It is going into electrolysis tonight after work. Maybe I will get lucky and find some markings on it.

Has to be a shotgun barrel with a bore like that.

Seam means a bb gun or decorative piece. So far. It looks light enough too.

I deleted my posts on this ... and will delete this one in a few... so to not take away from your find.
You should do the same :)
