✅ SOLVED Gun Part/ Utensil/Help please

I found this in the vicinity of the Honey Hill Battlefield in Ridgeland, SC. It has some interesting design elements and is quite heavy for its size. It is obviously a piece of something.I am new at this. Any ideas?
