Monday I went back and spent about 5 hrs. on a site where I found parts to a Sharps rifle a couple of years ago. I vigilantly hunted the site and expanded the search area ultimately finding the load lever for the Sharps and a couple more screws and another nipple. I also found a trigger guard and thimble for a percussion shotgun. Along the way I found numerous fired bullets and some more .58 cal. Enfield bullets.
I attached a few pics. of the original discovery (last 2 pics.). The lockplate is marked R. S. Lawrence/Pat. April 12th 1859. I also discovered today, while researching this rifle some more, that it is pictured on the front cover of "FLAYDERMAN'S GUIDE TO ANTIQUE AMERICAN FIREARMS".
Thanks for looking!
