Hey everyone! Went to a few spots today. One spot turned up the trigger guard and the other brass items I believe to also be gun parts. They all came from the same hole. The piece I drew has a "14" stamped on it but I couldn't capture it in the pictures, it also has a small notch. If any of you gun experts know/recognize what those parts may be I would appreciate it. At a few various spots a about a mile away is where I found everything else. Including the "Henry" cartridge and the overall piece which says "Patent 1856." I also found a homemade lead sinker, first one! Thanks in advance for looking and happy hunting. P.S. the quarter is for reference

Those are very neat finds. And there is certainly a story in there somewhere. Keep digging and tell us the story....:find:

Nice finds. I like that trigger guard

Very cool finds, looks to be to some type of Muzzy, was the date you mentioned on the trigger guard. take it to an old gun smith. They would probably love to see it and ID it for you.

Nope nothing on the trigger guard. Just a stamped 14 on that small piece I drew.

Your trigger guard is circa 1840-1850 and it came from a New England made rifle. The reason I know the area where it was made, is because the front portion of the guard has an extension or "teat" that is only found on rifles from the New England area. Nice find, did you dig it in New England?

Nope! Out here in the West! Thank you very much. Could you send me a link to anything you may have regarding that info I'm not sure what you mean by "treat".

Not sure if this will work, but here is a link to a New England made rifle, scroll down and you'll see a trigger guard that's similar to yours (not exact).

New England Kentucky Style Fowler, F511

The "teat" I'm referring to is the little extension that sticks out at the front of the trigger guard.

Very cool. Thank you, I though they all had that back then.
