Why would you assume it needs preserving? Looks to have no active issues to worry about. It will hold up just fine with nothing, but if you want to add Renaissance Wax you can.

WOW! Amazing find, Congrats! Preserve it? Never had one so I don't know what route I'd choose. Good luck...

I just don't want it to deteriorate. I've never dug a button before so I'm not familiar with how they hold up.
I promise it will be just fine, left as is.

Awesome find!!! There are probably better things to put on it but I use baby oil on a lot of stuff though I have not had anything that rare.

A great find - congrats !

Just my opinion ...
I'd leave it as is - I'd assume it's made of Bronze so it won't deteriorate.
If you try to clean the Button you will probably loose some detail.

Good Hunting !

Basically put a little water on it just to get the dirt off. I'll let it sit then get some better photos!

I'm hoping it has some friends out in the hills!

Sweet Button recovery, congrats! :occasion14:

Congrats on an excellent find. I agree with the rest, just put a coat of the wax on it, and it will display very nicely.
