I followed a hunch that I had about this yard and finally got up the nerve and tracked down the owner and asked permission. No problem, he just asked if I would show him what I found. I almost got discouraged because he told me that they put about 2 inches of black dirt on the yard to level it out. The other day after work I thought I would give it a try. The first little corner of the front yard had nothing but clad and my hopes started to fade, then I crossed the sidewalk to the bigger part and started working my way to an old tree. I got my first deep signal and out came a 1909 Barber dime, sweet!! About 10 feet away I got another deepy, a 1902, then the closer I got to the tree I started digging Injun after Injun all around the base of the tree, I wonder if anyone heard me giggling like a little kid. As I made my second pass across this part of the yard I got another deepy and this time it was the 1914d Barber, OH YEAH!!! As I got close to the sidewalk again I got one that sounded good but not as deep as the Barbers, a 1928 Merc. 4 silver in an hour and a half and I hadn't even made a dent in the yard yet. I stayed there for another hour or so hoping for a dime trifecta but it was not to be, I ended up with 8 IHs 2 '98s, 2 '05s, 2 '00s a '93 and a '06. 4 wheats a '21s, '16d, '13, and a '25 and two tokens, I don't have one in the pic because I didn't realize it was a token till I took a better look at it. It turned out to be a Colorado tax token. The one in the pic is for a store that was in Pender Nebr.

I went back to the yard that I hunted the other day and I was not disappointed. This has to be, by far, the best yard I have ever hunted. I got there at about 6:30 this morning and hunted till about noon and had to leave because the tenants were putting on a rummage sale. I ended up with 2 Barber quarters, a '94 and a '97, 2 more Barber dimes, a'08d and a '05, a '04 V nickel and 4 more IHs 2 '98s an '00 and a '01 and 9 more wheats. I went back after supper but the rummage was still going on so I headed down the street and hit a parking and got the 47d Rosey, a '35 Buffalo and a couple more wheats. It's been a good day. Thanks for looking and HH.

That is a dream hunt. Makes me want to find the nerve to go door knocking.

I think you found a great spot there. I was raised so. of sioux city in the 50`s and 60`s and could give you some good tips on places to hunt that I`d bet have never been hunted. I`ve got a plat book from the early 60`s and would be happy to share some old farm sites with you. I`ll send you a PM later.

WOW ~ all kinds of great coins and tokens there man! NICE!!! Congrat's!

Congrats on that great yard!!!!! Those are the kind I dream about. For some unknown reason, I seem to get stuck on about 5 silvers from great looking yards. The good news is that the few times I have found more than 5, it ended up being more like 20. Hope you hit 25. Even better with all those Indians in the mix!!!!! You must have good soil there, b/c our Indians always turn green. Would love to find a brown toned Indian.
