No didn't sneak up on me, saw him coming. This was a screen capture from a short video I took today.

If I suddenly saw it near me I would assume the worst

I had a dolphin approach me once in the Caribbean. We were face to face for about 30 seconds , seemed like an hour though. When I turned my MD off it left straight away. Must have been attracted to the threshold noise.

cool what if it had been a shark though ? then what would you have done ?

Dolphins are great... you see em... best time to dive... no sharks.

As ARRC said dolphins and sharks do not get along. The few sharks I have seen in this area are small and few and far between. I do carry a Nutall stainless steel scope that is formidable, but certainly wouldn't look for confrontation.

what kind of camera are you using to get a screen capture?

The camera was a Pentax (can't remember model #) relatively inexpensive under 200.00 on sale, the video then was transferred to my surface rt and from there I paused the video and used the screen capture ability built into the surface.

thanks. researching for a waterproof/rugged camera for all around but can still take out detecting.

Terrific pic, :thumbsup:gamiller

I misspoke it actually is RICOH WG-20 so far appears to be a rugged little camera.

.
If I knew what I was doing I would have posted the video, relatively short under 2 minutes, watching them glide through the water is awesome. A couple of days ago they were showboating ( leaping out the water) . I was too far away to get a real good picture or movie of them.

Richo and Pentax WG-x are the same camera. The WG series is up to the -4. O I own the -3GPS and it is one great camera for both all around point and shoot still shots and movies both above and under water to 15 feet (if I remember correctly). It is a very rugged camera with great reviews. It also has a macro mode that lets you shoot at 1cm with special built in lighting - great for getting to photo really close up when needed.
