Ok this post is nothing to do with detecting, ( so will, and should be moved). Today is 10 years since a stainless steel plant was closed in Sheffield England. Sheffield was where stainless steel was invented. Shepcote lane the factory was the last large producer of stainless steel coil in Britain. It also happened to be where I worked since a young lad in 1979. To get in to the old firm I had to haul my old as over barbed wire. Just had to do it to toast, the great guys I worked with over the decades. Now with globalization , we buy shoddy steel from China (much cheaper) the biggest dictatorship in the world. Our granddads must be turning in their graves. Robert.
