Got out the detector today after doing boxes of dimes and had great scores in both box and ground. Found 12 dimes with 1 merc in 2 boxes. An hour later, I found my 1st silver metal detecting. 1943p quarter that is in excellent shape.
CHR took a little thrill out of it as after digging silver out of rolls every week, it lost a little of the "wow!!" effect. However, I was still excited and amazed at how silver looks when buried in dirt for that long. It looked as if someone just put it there yesterday! It was about 8-9"down and bright and shiny.
