Have not been out hunting in a while, had some time today. Despite recent rain, the ground was like concrete so concentrated down by the creek where it was a little easier to dig. Worked my way down the banks of the creek where an old grist mill once stood - first good hit was hard to pinpoint but recovered a holed and well worn 1823 half-real (Mexico Iturbide Augustin). The other good find was almost 8" down, 1818 bust half in really good shape.

Need some help there man I'am all in.

Nice, nice, and did I say NICE!

Wow ! Nice finds indeed !!! That 1818 would have made my year and then some !!! That was a chunk of change back then - Argentium.

Really nice coins!

If I collected US coins, those early ones would be my Fav. CONGRATS!

In my books I would say your first good find was the 1/2 real. Fantastic finds there, well done.:hello2:
ZDD

Nice finds Luke! Glad to see you're finally pulling that silver out of there. But hey...save some for me and Ryan when we come back. lol

Matt - no worries! The area is so choked with brush, vines and brambles that it is hard going - once the fall sets in and that all dies off, it will be a lot easier to get in around the good spots. These were found off my property down the old road which once went across the creek. The big field across from my place has been planted with soybean this year - once that is cut it will be another good area - that's were the Union raiders camped for a couple of days.

wow those are sweet. that half woulda made me pee my pants

Awesome. We will definitely meet up again this fall at your property and the same goes for you at the Boyce property.

One of those is still on my list to find, great hunt.:notworthy:

Now that was worth the dig! Were you finding lots of junk there also?

Yep! There is a lot of iron in the ground all around here, maybe one good hit within a fifty junk ones - I use the iron audio feature on the AT Pro and just ignore those signals, unless I get that feel there is something good there too. I've probably missed some things but I can always go back.

Ha Ha! "Why are you looking here little boy? Because the light's better!" LOL

In any case, great finds!

HH!
