I hope everyone is getting out and enjoying the weather. I've been hitting the fields hard after being cooped up all winter. It feels good to be out stomping around in the bean fields once again. After searching google earth and looking over old maps, I had a hunch about a stretch of creek bordering some fields I've been hunting for a few years. I decided to follow the water and see where it led. To follow the same creek, I had to get permission to go in the neighboring fields. I asked nicely and got the ok. Here's a couple oldie's from the first day. I don't know which is better. Researching and finding a new occupation site or actually finding the artifacts. I'm thinking they both go hand in hand. I hope everyone has a productive year! half dime.webphalf dime 2.webplargy 2.webplargey.webp

Your '44 Seated Half Dime is in beautiful shape for having come out of a farm field.
I love finding 'holed' coins, in my opinion it makes them much more personal.

Good finds! Half dimes are special!

Nice going on the silver and copper. :icon_thumright:
Sometimes it all works out expanding the hunt perimeters a tad, found many a nice keeper going for a little stroll around the outstretched permissions.

Great Finds!!

Its almost all clay up higher and clay mixed with mud going further down. Those are the fields I like the best because the clay preserves the artifacts better. The dwelling sat further down almost on the creek. Its not a creek now but I feel it was back then. The large cent was deep in the mud and all I got was a wisp of a signal at first. In those areas I dig pretty much all signals because things could have settled into the mud. Long winded reply I know.

Nice pair there! That's a winning hand

researching and hunting are both fun, great finds and thanks for posting
