Have a chance to buy the following collection:

These coins also come in a new Dansco album

Seller says the coins are F-VF conditioned, none were cleaned. He offered them to me for $800. He originally wanted $960, I had offered $650. 50 coins x $9.36 (todays spot price) = $468, are these worth the extra $332? Thoughts?

Joe, you have to find out which dates are worth more then melt for the condition they are in. Got to do some research. The Coin books probably cost &50 so that's a plus.

I went through and there are not any key dates in the collection, a few semi-key but nothing terribly rare from what I can see

Its certainly no bargain (especially with the plunging price of silver), but its not my money. Personally, melt value would be my TOP offer, but again its not my money.

If its worth it to you, then its a good deal...regardless of price.

I don't really collect this kind of stuff. I generally only buy junk silver. I just don't want to pass up any good deals

I think you just answered your own question- unless you want to start collecting then its not worth it- I'm basically the same way- I'm really only looking for silver- I won't pay a non-LCS more than spot. If you want to start collecting then might be an ok deal depending on the condition of the coins
