Hi guys,

I found this hammer/tool stone by my grandparents' farm here in central Saskatchewan. Any ideas of what its use might have been?

Its about 4.5" long and 3" tall. Any input would be great!

Cheers

Thanks! My initial thought was that it was broken as well, but the face appears almost too cleanly broken to be unintentional

Yep, not a hammer at all but very well can be a grooved maul.

Yup, a maul. Sometimes rocks break cleanly along an old fault/crack. If you type Maul in the search bar on the upper right of the screen, you'll see some guys from the Dakotas hunt the southern range of some of the groups that made relics like yours.

Probably lots more items to be found!
