Wow very cool finds! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: I can't imagine finding a coin from 1250! Oh nice monkey too!

Hard to come by, i think it's around 50:1 with roman coins. Still at least 5:1 ratio with roman silver. Medieval silver is rare in my fields.

Took the words from me, congrats on a GREAT day!

Thanks Cru! It surely was. My buddy had 4 brooches/fibula, one a nice 3rd-4th C. crossbow fibula. We were on this field after harvest and came up with almost nothing, and yesterday it was great!

Westfront...great finds, especially like the hammered penny, amazing condition for being in the ground about 800 years...I also like the panther and the ape, the ape is one of those things you just don’t expect to find in a middle of a farm field....good luck with your hunts...Walt

To be honest, there is nothing I don't expect in a farm field.

I found things in farm fields i don't like to post and i'm sure nobody wanted this to see. At least not in a family friedly forum. :laughing9:

wirklich tolle Funde. Meine Gegend (53804 Much) ist auch sehr alt aber älter als 1827 habe ich noch nicht gefunden. Wünsche Dir weiterhin "Gut Fund"

Thanks. There are many really old trading routes in your area. Start your research and keep digging. Finds will come.

That is a tiny coin! But beautiful!

The older medieval silver is the smaller. This is a Pfennig/Penny so the smallest denomination used here. We had no Halfpennys. May Crusader can tell about the size of his 13th C. Pennys. Interesting to compare.
