It has been hot and I have not been getting out much. Here are a few goodies from the last two weeks.

I was able to take TNetter Mangum out for a hunt, I owed him one. He didn't find anything good, so I guess I owe him 2 hunts now. I found one ring, so it wasn't like I was on fire either. As soon as this nugget appeared, I know it was a ring.

Here it is with the dirt removed.

It doesn't take much to make me happy.

I got out with TNetter P@tch last weekend. He took me deep into the country, to an old school. We found Wheaties and modern coins, but not much else. I was digging all repeatable signals. I got an iron signal with a copper cent peeping through... that Deus is a monster. I dug in the compacted dirt... and suddenly this appeared.

Low and behold, a '39 quarter and two nails! The ad campaign ought to be: Buy a Deus get a free quarter!

How about this little adjustable ring from American Airlines. Junior Stewardess! Priceless. In today's politically correct environment you could not give these away, even if you tied a dollar to them.

I posted this in the "What Is It" section also. It might be a cane top, but I just don't know. It is silver and hand engraved.

Iron attachment on back, that appears to be filled in with lead.

If you know what it is, speak up please.

Nice going on the silver Tom. Yes being what today is in the world of walking on egg shells/thin ice the ring is priceless.
Just another thought on the lead filled engraved silver piece.
I'm starting to think it might of being filled to add weight like they did/do to candle sticks, handles, to help the hollow silver keep its form. It's seen some use from the looks of the worn script so being handled makes me lean toward cane/walking stick cap.
Very cool recovery.

Sweet silver with a side of nails! I love it when that happens. Silver ring, silver coin, and silver relic- that's some fine hunting.

Not sure what the engraved thing is, but I agree with pepperj on the walking stick idea.

Great job on the silver! I also found something just like that last year! Engraved on the top too. Kinda in the same font. Ill try to remember to find it later but i thought mine was a top to a flask.

Nice finds Tom-looks like your silver magnet is still working lol. Good luck with the id

congrats on pulling silver out from nails. the silver cap, it would seem that as a cap for a walking stick, it would show wear on the edges from being handled or rubbed and this seems pretty sharp. my first guess was for the walking stick but not sure now. I could easily see it as a flask cap too. pretty cool irregardless.

Excellent results from a true Treasure Hunter! CONGRATS! :occasion14:

Man-O-Man, look at all that silver. I'm glad someone is finding the good stuff. All I keep finding is money.... I mean clad. Silver ring #10, you're killing it, Tom. Congrats to you Mister.

Some nice stuff tom, I have no idea what the silver item is but it's very intriguing. Great finds, keep it up!

I'll venture to say that the type is stylistic of the late 19th century. Of course there's room on both sides of that estimate. Nice digs Tom. Cheers bro

hoist the flag for that hunt_____ no :censored: :cussing: :angry4: :protest: ers against those digs, stand tall & proud like a STATUE :icon_thumleft::icon_thumright:

Sweet silver any shape or form. Love the old A/A stewardess ring too. The monogrammed silver thingy it way cool!:headbang:

Man I would not have the patience to take a picture of that ring before popping out the dirt core.

I don't know why The engraved piece looks like a love token engraving... Cool engraving whatever it was attached to.

Heres the thing i found. Im pretty sure its silver but i havent tested it yet. Had to pull it out of the box in the garage. Appears to say HG on mine. The writing is different from yours. Maybe the same thing? What do you think?

Edit: no iron on the inside either

It appears to have a little hole, for a set screw. That really, really looks like a cane top to me.

Thanks for the pic! I am going to assume that mine is a cane top too.

Best of luck sir.

Hey Mzjavert, Thanks for the comment on the dirt covered ring.

I really like the "dirty ring" pictures, so I do my best to get before and after shots. Here are a few of the before shots from this year.
