Handle of an old pistol?

]Hi...I recently found this on some property that was a park dates back to the early 1900s. There was also civil war battle in the area I believe it to be an handle to a old pistol. It has a Bolt And Nut running through the center as if it held some type off grip at one point. And it fits perfectly in my hand. It has a copper tint to it which is weird . Any ideas?

It looks like aluminum to me so most likely from an old cap gun.

Possible handle from old saw.

That looks like remnants of a cap gun. The chrome plating turns to a gold tinge after being in the ground and or exposed to heat.

It doesn't look like the remains of a grip on any Civil War pistol I know about. It appears to be pot metal, which could make it a cap gun, but I'm not satisfied that it's a cap gun either, that said, sorry, I don't have any idea what it might be.

See the spring in this cap gun handle? I found this cap gun and this unmarked 14k gold ring (last pic) in the same area near Rim Of The World. Both have been through forest fires from the time that cap gun was in production.
