Handle of some kind? (and a weird chain thing)

While digging yesterday I found a few items that I have been trying to identify. The first one looks like it was a handle to something. It's 2.25" long and has an emblem on the end of it of a bird with a crown above it's head and two stars below. Did some searches but had no luck so far. The black areas seem to be coated over a shiny gold-looking metal (plated copper maybe?) - and it feels pretty solid.

The second item looks to be part of a bike or something because the chain link. It's stamped with "Patent applied for" on one side and the numeral "3" on the other. Possibly a part to an old lawn mower or something?

Appreciate any assistance in solving these little mysteries!

I'd like to see a pic of the other end of item one. Laying in your hand it looks like a lipstick tube.

Is it solid or hollow? Does it open? Can we see a pic of the other end?

bigcypresshunter - thanks for the ID on the toilet chain thing! I think your's right on that one.

Now-

The "handle" thing. It is solid. The black dections appear to be coated over a gold-colored metal. It doesn't open and I have tried turning every which way with no results and can't see any sections that would show a thread for a cap to it. I scratched a small section of the black area and it had the same gold-ish metal under it too. I'll post some more pictures so you can see. There used to be something attached to the opposite end from the emblem but I haven't figured it out.

I just poked the end of it (and it broke through into a hollow area) so I do think you were correct that it IS a lipstick case. Mystery solved! Thank you all for the help!!
