After the success yesterday, spirits were high. But we soon realised it was a very different end of the field than the first section. I began to think it used to be a seperate field & looked over the hedge at an old boundry ditch, I realised we were in a different field. Obiviously joined at a later date. So what ever activity we found had stopped at the edge of the previous field. DAMN.

Covered an acre carefully with 1/2 an acre to complete next week.

We found:

3 Buttons.

Coins - William III 1690s bent farthing, George II Farthing,Roman Bronze Coin, 1620s Rose Farthing (damaged) :(

Lead - Musket Ball, Enfield muzzel loading bullet (1860s), bag seal, cloth seal.

Mystery items - At the start of the field when we started the day, we had 1 strip left to complete the section. Dad found a whatsit. 500 metres away I found another one. I think its a Georgian/Victorian bracelet links?? (shown front of one & back of other, decor on both sides)

Re: Hard day, just a few keepers.......

Cool finds...just the things I am always looking forward to digging!

Had one of those thoughts just before I went to sleep. What happened to that Silver Pin I found on Sunday. Immediate thought was its down the plug hole. So I got out of bed & unscrewed the U-bend under the sink & in all the hair was my Pin.

So before I sleep here is a picture.

I think its late medieval from a annular brooch.
