I bought some scarp gold from a California surplus auction in the late 1990,s , I took it to a jeweler to have this ring made and in 2006 I lost it on my 5 ac. piece of property while throwing hay to my horses, it was a few hours before I realized it was not on my finger, went looking for it, but with the horses all over the place where I thou the hay, I had no luck, a year later I bought an whites classic III and went looking for it, no luck then either, a year or two later I tried it with a new whites mxt ...no luck then either...a week and a half ago I got a Minelab x-terra 705 and went out looking again, low and behold after a few hits on some old rusty nails I got a good solid hit and out popped my ring that I had lost 8 years before, now I don't know if I just missed it with the other detectors, but lady luck was with me today....I think I am going to go get some lottery tickets tonight P1030486.webp.....one happy man here..

That is a beautiful ring, I'm glad you found it. Is it very expensive to have a ring like that custom-made if you supply the scrap gold?
if you want an 18 carat ring, can you supply any kind of scrap gold?

Just happen to be enough scrap gold and stones that it didnt cost anything other than what it cost me to get it at the auction...at that time it was a sealed bid auction, I got it for $125. There don't do sealed bids anymore, the ring has 1oz of 14 k gold, I was going to do 18k buy the jeweler said 18k is to soft and starches to easy.

Reunited with a long lost love, feels soooo good. Technology is taking LUCK out of so much of today's treasure hunting. "I'M ALL IN".

nice. glad you got your ring back. hope you win the lotto too

I think I already hit the lotto finding my ring....don't want to push lady luck....I,ll take it and run...

Awesome recovery! Let us know if you hit it big!

What story! Congratulations on finding your ring, and to see that it hasn't been damaged after all that time, was it buried?

Awesome story! Glad you got it back and that the X-Terra worked out for you!

Just curious what kind of number that ring came in as on your Xterra. You don't come across those big boys too often.

The ID number was showing 20 to 22...

Good for you. Determination payed off. What was the signal number on your Xterra when you found it and how deep was it?
