Thanks ,for the help so far … Yes ,, I was happy to find something ,under the handle … but didn't see it at 1st … Had to use powder , to get it,good enough to take a pic of ..
I 'll give it a week ,to see if anymore info posts . Then I'll see about asking the rice cracker place ,,, Thanks ,,Wayne

Just a note - describing a blade as a Hara Kiri knife is like describing a policeman's service revolver as a suicide gun.

That's just the end use of something designed for an entirely different purpose.

Telling us the length of the blade could help narrow it down.

I would take pictures in the day light with the inscription powdered so it shows up nicely, and if possible draw out what is inscribed forward both the pics of the tang and of your copy of it to the address listed previously to get an translation and identification. Reason being that some blades can be worth more than others and a correct translation and identification can help with that.

Just my two cents........
