One coin shop I visited last week to purchase some plastic tubes from, I asked the dealer what he was paying for silver and he also told me what he pays for wheaties--.02 cents each. LOL I don't think so, I'll keep mine at that price.

I have never sold any, I hoard them also, but... a treasure shop inside the Venetian Hotel and Casino sells Wheats and Merc. dimes for 15 bucks each! This is a high end store that has certified treasure coins from shipwrecks you can buy. Pretty cool store, but the modern coins are just commons, no key dates. Waiting for some poor unsuspecting traveller to come in I guess.

Vegas, just shows that casinos get your money one way or another. :P
Penny, that's what my dealer also pays for wheats. He pays up to .03 for teens and 20's.

Unless I got a coin worth a lot...and I really needed the money, I would never sell a coin. It may sound stupid, but some day when I have kids, I want to have a lot of old coins for them to look at. I figure, if my parents or grandparents had collected coins when they were younger, they would have a lot of coins like pre-1900, etc. I just like looking my pile... :)

I've also been known to throw a few in a plastic film canister and bury them throughout town in various places withthe name of out local club and phone #. Have had a few calls and thank you's.
