Has solar maximum already occured?

I just read an article saying the northern hemisphere of the sun has already hit the solar maximum and the southern hemisphere will have a weaker peak in 2013 or 2014. I might note that the solar storms usually increase for a year or two after the solar maximum.

All I know is that we have had only a hand full of times it has went in the red this year... From what I know the sun is running about 4 years behind normal....Art
