Have No Idea

Hi all,

I am detecting a mid 1800s house and dug this today. As the title says I have no idea what it is. It is about 5 to 6 inches long. Thanks reading and helping if you can !!!!

The other side had nothing attached to it. Here is a picture.

It does seem to be a large diameter hole for a handle for such a small pick maybe a tine from some farm equipment

It’s a holder for a small glass insulator, part of a lightning rod system. That bracket would be driven into the side of the building like a nail, the insulator inserted, and the ground wire passed through.
