Hi all,

I am detecting a mid 1800s house and dug this today. As the title says I have no idea what it is. It is about 5 to 6 inches long. Thanks reading and helping if you can !!!! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1601749278.514793.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1601749293.095023.jpg

It does seem to be a large diameter hole for a handle for such a small pick:dontknow: maybe a tine from some farm equipment

It’s a holder for a small glass insulator, part of a lightning rod system. That bracket would be driven into the side of the building like a nail, the insulator inserted, and the ground wire passed through.
