Found at the base of a huge oak tree by a 1702 tavern cellar hole in Massachusetts. I don't believe it's all

that old because it's very thin and light weight copper. Just has a feel of being 20th century but then again I have no clue what it is. It is a two piece artifact with one sliding into the other.
Please help.
 

Don't know, but it sure is pretty!

If I had to venture a guess, I would guess that it is part of an antique paper clip.

Maybe an expert could chime in but could it possibly be a powder flask? or at least a partial one

I agree with creskol. I think it's half of a Victorian era paperclip.
