🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Have no idea

Found at the base of a huge oak tree by a 1702 tavern cellar hole in Massachusetts. I don't believe it's all

that old because it's very thin and light weight copper. Just has a feel of being 20th century but then again I have no clue what it is. It is a two piece artifact with one sliding into the other.
Please help.

Don't know, but it sure is pretty!

If I had to venture a guess, I would guess that it is part of an antique paper clip.

It's way to thin and fragile. It bends with just the slightest pressure.
It almost seems hunting related.
