Found this lead button with this interesting mark on the back. Has anyone ever come across this mark before?

Try looking at it this way. Maybe someone can help identifying it. It looks to me like the figure is an Indian or a rabbit
and there may be some letters in the chest area.

I see an Indian with two feathers on his head hunched over using a sewing machine and a big feather and an arrow are coming out of the sewing machine life fabric. Maybe the button was made for the clothes produced in a factory run by Native Americans.

Interesting find Brian, did you find it near salt water or on a beach?
What type of metal do you think it is, it looks like pot metal or zinc to me.

I've never seen a makers mark like that one before.
Date wise, I'm thinking it's from the 1920s.

I've seem the arrow/feather reference before but I can't recall it now. It's an early one for sure, being lead as you quoted.
I rotated the photo to see if it made anymore sense-but got nothing playing around with editing tools to see if the detailing was enhanced.
The British Button Society does a ID for ?5 ( ?=British pound symbol)
The area between the head and the arrow is obscured a tad to get any sense on what the letters are.

Awesome find, definitely a unique makers mark. I did see a maker (Rogers and Spurr MFG Co) with an arrow design that was close to yours on page 211 in the below reference book named “Trademarks on Base-Metal Tableware” found on the Southern Historical Association (SHA) website

No I found it at an old site in a farmers field up here in Canada.
