Have you seen this treasure hunter? A follow-up story to 'Ship of Gold Deep Blue Sea'

Odyssey Marine Exploration's continuing salvage of the 1857 wreck off the NC coast shined a light on the original discoverer --- Tommy Thompson. I highly recommend the book based on his story 'Ship of Gold Deep Blue Sea'. In the 1980's he was an OSU dropout living in his car with big dreams about developing the robotics necessary for deep sea salvage. Eventually he found financial backers who subsequently helped him salvage a big part of the above ship's gold coins. Seems now he's missing/wanted along with a lady friend and $50 million owed to his original investors....

Tommy Thompson Sunken Treasure Hunter Wanted by US Marshal's

I've written to him and offered to buy him a beer, and he won't answer.

He occasionally pops up on TN under an assumed name to see how things are going.

Given the police state USSA, he resides in another country…….
As for him signing on under an assumed name, if you are aware, it is extremely foolish of him since he has made himself known…….

Hate to see people being screwed by greedy people like him……..

That's not good. If they really want him they can find him.

Well, it was a fabulous book anyway. I listened to the audiobook while driving and had to force myself to pay attention to the road at times.

I'm sure he is someplace warm that does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S.

Read it a couple of months ago...........very good book!
