After seeing all the GREAT CW relics posted this morning, I got the itch to go back to my CW mountain site. I haven't been up there since my back surgery, so I knew I would be exhausted by the time I got to the top. Yep. I was right! :D :P Dang, I was tired! :D

Last time I was there, I found nothing but iron signals and again today was nothing but iron signals. I got a beep, sat down and dug the hole and got a nice square nail. While I was sitting there I looked up to see this hovering over my head....

Guess he was double checking to make sure I got up! :D

Dug a few relics and decided to hit the shade at the bottom by the house. Don't have a clue what I dug, except for the nails and a link to a chain and a bullet, but just being there and the nice view was worth the climb. :)

Only found a 1920 wheat down at the house and something with a hole in the middle that looks like some kind of a penny. Got it in oil to see if I can get some of the crud off.

Yesterday I went up to Cullman to see if the regulars had cleaned the place out, and they had. :D Only a few pieces of change. DiggerBug calls while I there and says she's got cabin fever and wants to go relic hunting. So I meet her for a couple of hours of hunting and find a miners tag and a dog tag. Now this dog was a long way from home! :D According to the phone numbers on the back, he was from New York, but he had family in Georgia. :D Got the little flattened penny at the park. Thought it was neat.

Neat relics, and that looks like a beautiful spot for hunting,I wish we would get a little rain, tried hunting some yesterday with Mrs. TW ground hard.
But the veiw alone where you were would be worth about anything.

AND HE DOES LOOK HUNGRY!!!!! ;D

Great finds, but Buzzards circling overhead isn't a good sign. Way to go on the neat dog tag and other treasures.

great finds nana, thanks for the post and pics. ;D

Thats quite a hike ! Nanarific (LOL) on the finds and not getting eaten alive. If you are finding iron relics there ,then I would assume there is going to be more ....silver maybe?!

Beautiful shots Nana. Congrats on the finds. What does that dog tag say? Dusty something?
Thanks,
MM

Nice going. Love the hawk pics. Let's hope the rain doesn't wash you out though.

Nice shots Nana.Like that dog tag....reminds me of a commercial...."Mr. Barky VonSnausser"! ........Joe

Nice finds, Nana. Great pics, I bet you're tired from that hike & all the digging. That ole buzzard wouldn't hurt ya...got a good shot of him anyway.

Nana,
The rusted piece in thebottom right of the 1st pic,is the large end kind of cupped like some kind of tool??
I have something that looks close that i found at an old campsite....
Glad to see you are able to get out and about a little bit.....

Wow Nana, that view alone was probably worth the hike. And you did get to sit for a bit, too.

Love the pics - and cool whatsits. (Is that a zipper pull? :D )

Glad you guys got out,

HH

Great finds Nana! Great pictures too!

Good going Nana. You know sometimes the treasures not in the ground but all around us, if we would just take the time to look. Oh, and above us......

It's great to hear from ya, Nanners! The gorgeous scenery makes up for any lack of finds on your first dig. :o :o
